StoneArrow is a boutique artisan business that creates products inspired by the beauty of nature here in Aotearoa New Zealand. We specialise in creating high quality, sustainable, innovative, and hand-crafted jewellery made from up-cycled materials.

The foundations of our success are built on creativity, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. We also take pride in our friendly kiwi attitude; in our daily business we aim to practice respect, transparency, and generosity.

StoneArrow

StoneArrow was dreamed up by Nick Feint some 25 years ago. His first gig selling jewellery was a hi-tech operation using portable display boards in Manners Mall, Wellington.

From Wellington, Nick sold his jewellery where ever he travelled until he finally made a home for StoneArrow in Takaka, Golden Bay in 2000.

Nick would never have been able to turn StoneArrow into the thriving business that it is without his dedicated and hard-working small team who are involved in all aspects of the business now - from day-to-day processing orders, answering queries, manufacturing, designing new products, running social media, problem solving and general all-round legends!

About Nick

Nick is a kiwi creative who taught himself the basics of jewellery-making after finishing a business degree and realising he didn't want to work for "the man".

The StoneArrow team picked up and ran with it from these beginnings, allowing Nick to not only find joy and meaning steering the StoneArrow ship, but also spend time as a singer/songwriter, an enthusiastic soccer player, and devoted father to two fully grown boys and two younger children. He is also one of the original founders of Tracks, a rites of passage organisation that runs programmes for young men.

Nick lives in Onekaka in Golden Bay with his partner Rose, their son Xavier, daughter Grace and Chaos (the cat).

Workshop & Gallery

Our workshop and gallery is situated in a lovely old building that has seen many different uses, including a boarding house in the 1800's, a bakery and several cafes.

We created our workshop in what used to be the old cafe kitchen! This has actually turned out to be very useful with our noisy tumblers operating in the old chiller and our soldering bench under the extractor fan where the deep fryers used to be.

Come in for a visit and meet some of the team behind the designs, we love showing off our workshop and the inventive ways we have developed to make the jewellery.

Kaupapa

The Maori word "Kaupapa" means principles and ideas which act as a base or foundation for action.

A kaupapa is a set of values and principles which people have agreed on as a foundation for their actions. It is also a plan that informs behaviour and customs.

Handmade

Our pieces are designed and made by people not machines, using practical tools to craft each piece. Some StoneArrow designs are cast for us in Auckland and hand-finished by us.

Our small workshop in Tākaka is tucked behind the gallery. When you come here you're welcome to see it in action and meet our team. Or take a virtual tour around our gallery and workshop.

Generosity

Not only do we donate a percentage from all online sales to Trees That Count, we also aim to be an ethical company that is happy to support charities with fundraising.

We donate both money and jewellery vouchers to a wide range of charities both regularly and as a one-off. We are particularly open to donating to causes that align with our business, preferring to support local or environmental causes.

We can help raise funds in two ways:

  1. We donate a StoneArrow Jewellery Voucher to be auctioned or offered as fund-raising prizes (redeemable online).

  2. We provide "Donation Codes" so that supporters can donate to causes when they shop.

Raise Funds

Our online fundraising programme helps to raise funds in a very straightforward and simple way and allows supporters to donate when they shop at StoneArrow Jewellery. We can provide a donation code that supporters can enter when they shop at our online store. They will still pay the normal retail price for any jewellery purchased and the fundraising organisation will be credited with 20% of the value.

We make it easy to share directly with supporters by providing printed materials that can be distributed at events. It is also straightforward to share fundraising efforts online via website, newsletters, Facebook or email.

If you are a charity or community group seeking fundraising ideas then please contact us.
